Find your next 1% improvement

(because every little really does count)

A green rectangle across the top of the image with a cream border reads 'Find Your 1%' in dark brown text. Background is a photo of a snowball rolling through otherwise untouched snow in curved line down the left side of the image. A dark green rectangle with rounded corners and a cream border in the centre of the image reads 'Autoimmune Self-Care Masterclass.' in bold dark brown text, and then 'Start rolling your very own snowball of feel-better goodness.' in smaller black text. A white glowing star to the top right of the rectangle sits behind the word 'FREE' in black text. One last green rectangle across the bottom shows Becca Benning in a signature style font (much neater than her actual handwriting), with a round logo of two figures in a leafy green environment, one supporting while the other reaches for coloured fruit in a tree while birds fly above.

Let's talk about autoimmune self-care...

I created this autoimmune self-care mini masterclass because I know - from personal as well as professional experience - how exhausting it can be to even think about where to begin with trying to take care of a body (and mind) in a state of such internal conflict.

Following wellness-related folks online can leave us believing that we 'should' be doing approximately 500 different things every day if we want to have even the tiniest chance of feeling better.

Which that can all too easily leave us feeling stuck in a body that is working against us, doing all the 'wrong' things...and beating ourselves up about it.

When we do get a little time for ourselves (along with the energy to actually use it), we get so overwhelmed, and down on ourselves about all the health-promoting stuff we 'should' be doing, that we freeze, and default to what feel like the easiest and most familiar choices for a quick hit of feel-good - which too often leave us feeling worse in the longer term.

Then there are the sneakily pervasive ideas that...

💭 it's 'normal' to live with exhaustion, pain and other frustrating symptoms with chronic health conditions, so we 'should' just get on with it

💭 we know what we 'should' be doing for self-care, but we're 'just no good at sticking with things'

So let's have a little word with that inner voice with all those 'shoulds'*.

* can you tell I'm not a fan of that word 😉

I know it's trying to help in a roundabout way - we can get into that later - but honestly, beating ourselves up gets us nowhere.

I'm Becca - nice to meet you 👋

Here's a newsflash for you lovely - you're not the problem. So what is?

Among other things, unrealistic expectations (largely gifted to us by the magic of advertising) about how making health-promoting changes is supposed to work, combined with a lack of flexibility - leaving us with 'I'm so piously health conscious 😇'  or 'sod this, I can't keep it up so what's the point 😞?' as the only available options.

So what else is there?

I'm offering a gentle approach that breaks things down into small, realistic steps, and allows you to loosen your grip on some of those 'shoulds' (let's be honest, I'm not pretending we can totally re-train your inner critic in half an hour 😉).

And the truth is, even a few minutes spent on something genuinely restorative is soooo worthwhile - I promise.

So if all you need is a few minutes to get things moving in a direction that feels good, let's work out what you'll do with yours!

What participants are saying...

  • "Love this reframe. Thank you!" - C

  • "Thank you Becca. Much appreciated." - T

  • "Really looking forward to changes which I know will have a huge impact. Excited for change!" - S

  • "I enjoyed it. You put a lot of thought in. It was very much appreciated. Thank you!" - M

Why listen to me on this (sometimes prickly) subject?

Hiya! I'm Becca Benning, your friendly Functional Health Coach, ex-teacher and TEDx speaker, who also happens to have multiple autoimmune and other chronic conditions (including MS, thyroid dysfunction, coeliac disease, psoriasis and adenomyosis).

So I really did work myself into the ground, and it took a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis to make me sit up and take notice of the pressure I was putting on myself when my body had been waving red flags all over the place for years.

I've learned bucket-loads about self-care since then, both personally and professionally, and have spent the last 5+ years helping clients get their own snowballs of goodness rolling.

I'm all about supporting simple, realistic steps towards the life, routines and boundaries you'd love to have - with a hefty dose of self-compassion thrown in. Helping you to design and implement those shifts that can really start to help you to get your spark back ✨
